Welcome SUE MENO to the Cadence Team! We’re excited to have her on board as a coach! Here’s a little bit about her:

Growing up in the midwest as a very outdoor active child chasing older brothers, I believe set some of the framework of my adult triathlon career and success. Gymnastics was my young focus but, I followed in my brothers’ footsteps and played basketball all through high school…go figure I’m 5″3′!

I stumbled into tri when I was training for a marathon with a group of friends in 2007. I had a great marathon with a 3:28 and Boston Qualification, but then I got hooked on Tri! I have been individually coaching endurance athletes for the past eight years and find a great fit with Charlie and Cadence. My experience with coaching is every level from someone who couldn’t swim across to the pool to completing an Ironman seven months later to Kona, 70.3 worlds and Boston Qualifiers. All levels of desire from very competitive to just wanting to finish and adapt a healthier lifestyle. All ages from 13 to, well, I shouldn’t share!!!

My Racing Highlights:

  • 1 Marathon 3:28
  • 4 stand alone 1/2 marathons PR of 1:28 winning my AG
  • 5 Full IMs to date with three podium finishes, three-time Kona Qualifier finished 2X and will be racing this October
  • Numerous qualifications for 70.3 Worlds. Chose to go 2X in Vegas placing 15th and 11th.
  • More than I can count of olympic and sprint Finishes all podium except for one.
  • 10+ 70.3 finishes in many different states with 8 podium finishes including a 1st place in Kansas and Female Overall at Mountain Man

My philosophy to coaching comes in a few different statements… “A happy athlete is a better athlete”  “Quality over quantity”  “Communication with coach is critical”  “Patience”  “Trust your plan”  “Never let negative thoughts enter the mind of a strong person”  And absolutely “Balance is key”.  I have done all of this raising three kids who are now 15, 17 and 19. Never did I miss an event due to training. My kids have learned to never give up and rise above adversity. Last but not least my daughter is learning to drive and she is absolutely paranoid of the bike lane!!!
